I had a great time and hope to spend a full day at the fest in 2027, whether or not my next submission makes the cut. For the 2026 fest, the table read was fun and informative. I heard my short script for the first time and got great notes from the actors who took part. Thank you for the experience, Brookfield.

I can say with confidence that that was the best managed post-screening discussion/Q&A we’ve had while taking ‘Vivid’ around, and the event overall was a great way to spend an afternoon. We will definitely be submitting to Brookfield again. Gary, Barbara and Co. truly value the festival experience, and even though smaller in scale, the return is worth it.

Well organized, amazing theater, great films, fantastic networking, and the Brookfield Arts Commission staff and volunteers were very welcoming and supportive! What a delightful festival! Great staff and venue. The hour long panel and engaging audience dialogue was fantastic. Every film was high quality and we're truly honored to have won a Festival Favorite Award! Happy our true Black History story was so well received!

I had a great time at the Brookfield Film Festival. Gary and his staff were all so extremely friendly and welcoming. This is my second year with a film selected for screening, but I was not able to attend last year. I'm so glad I was able to make it this year. All of the films screened were amazing, and I got to meet and network with some amazing talent while there. I will definitely submit to this festival again.

Had an awesome time at the Brookfield Film Festival! It was a great experience—got to meet some amazing people and reconnect with a few familiar faces too. The energy was super welcoming, and everything was really well put together. I’d definitely go back and highly recommend it to anyone who loves film and good vibes.

What a wonderful festival! I've rarely felt as embraced and honored and supported as a filmmaker as I did during this festival! Wonderful folks, a great assortment of films, directors, and talent! Staff and volunteers were all simply wonderful. Get yourself to Brookfield, people!

We had a wonderful time screening our film, Five Questions at this festival. Gary and his team of volunteers were incredibly welcoming and clearly cared about making the filmmakers experience a good one. The films were screened well and there was a very thoughtful Q&A/panel discussion afterwards. This is a small festival that aims big and hits the mark.

This is our second time in this festival. I was unable to attend this time, but as usual the communication and lineup were stellar, and if the screenings went as well as they did the last time, we know it was a great event. Gary and his team do a great job. Thanks again for having us in the lineup!

This was my first film festival i was able to attend and get accepted in. What an honor and privilege it was to show case our project, coming from LA. Met a lot of talented individuals and learned a lot about the potential we all have as artist and story tellers. Huge thank you to Gary and his wife for having us be apart of this film festival.

Thank you to Brookfield Film Festival for including my short script OrthodoxGirl & opening scenes from my feature screenplay Mariet/Maricara at Read Through Indie Morning! It was amazing to hear the pages read aloud for the first time & by talented actors! My family came & they loved the event. They are still talking about it! I hope to submit again with new material. The festival directors are super supportive & organized. The best!

Bless this Fest. Loved it Big Time - Gary & the rest of staff were just great and Hospitable from beginning to end. My friends came from far and wide to see the debut of 😷 “ Mask On” but was a little surprised by the audience response and am still on cloud 9! My peeps told me they enjoyed all the shorts that night. Truly a gorgeous historic theater with beautiful wood inside and stone outside. This place was made for the acoustics. I showed my flicks a bunch of places but ( shhhhhh) this is one of my favorites

We had a great time at the festival! It was great to see all the video, and to watch “Ukraine We Stand” by The Name Droppers on the big screen. Great people, very friendly warm environment.

I had a fantastic time at this festival. Before hand, Gary was very prompt in getting back to me when I had issues submitting the film. 

It was fairly packed, beautiful theater. There were free snacks and bagels and stuff. Even though I didn’t win, it was a pleasure to have my film screened. I met a lot of interesting filmmakers and I was able to talk about my film on stage.

Brookfield Film Festival has heart!! Some really wonderful people curating the best of local films, and also shining a light on works in progress. LOVED the script in hand morning where they had local actors read five screenplays aloud. So helpful to artists trying to craft stories. And the film afternoon was so much fun … really great movies followed by a wonderful talkback and Q&A. Love this fest and so happy I found it.

Nice group of filmmakers to meet and chat with. The table read was defiantly fun and worth it for any writer working on his next film. Festival is a great opportunity for local filmmakers to have their short films seen in the big screen. I’ll definitely attend next year.
